Sporty, Spacious and Smart Crossover A Hint Of The Future
Naza Kia Sdn. Bhd. today unveiled the Kia Multi-S concept vehicle for the first time at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2006. Living up to its name, this upscale leisure Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV), which altogether defines the new crossover concept, is Sporty, Spacious and Smart.
Powered by a 2.0-liter CRDi VGT diesel engine and a five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode, the Kia Multi-S is a pure pleasure to drive, responding immediately to driver input. Its sporty stance is evident by an appealing, unique frame set firmly on 19-inch alloy wheels with slotted disc brakes that tuck snugly into curvaceous fender flares.
Tan Sri Dato’ Seri SM Nasimuddin SM Amin, CEO of Naza Kia Sdn. Bhd., summed up the Kia Multi-S perfectly when he said, “The Multi-S blends crossover vehicle thinking with refined exterior lines and soft features that tone down the ruggedness typically associated with a utility vehicle. Sporting close road-ready technological features and fit-and-finish refinement, the Multi-S will move Kia further up the brand ladder.”
The Kia Multi-S seats seven passengers comfortably. Accentuating the roomy atmosphere are dual full-length glass moon roofs which provide an open-air feeling while protecting against the elements, and a heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) system extending to all three rows of seating. A large center console, luggage box and overhead console provides plenty of personal storage room, while fold-flat second- and third-row seats offer flexible cargo space.
Function and style are in harmony in the Kia Multi-S. The latest in passive safety ensures all passengers receive best-in-class protection, including electronic stability control (ESC), six full-length side curtain airbags, active front-seat head restraints, adaptive front headlamps and a tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).
The Kia Multi-S also features the latest in multi-systems interface technology for iPods, MP3s, PDAs, cell phones, notebook computers and more. A rear entertainment system with USB port complements a 6.1-channel premium surround sound audio system, affording driver and passengers the utmost in sound quality and entertainment.
