The Magentis (‘Optima’ in some countries) was named the 2007 Medium Car of the Year by AMI Insurance, the largest wholly New Zealand owned fire and general insurance company. The award was granted based on the Magentis’ stellar showing in a side-by-side road test with the Toyota Camry that appears in the November issue of Autocar magazine, in which the Magentis scored equal or higher marks in every category.
