During one of the prestigious motoring events in the Philippines, The 2008 Car of the Year Awards, the Kia Picanto (Morning) MT DLX won Car of the Year for the Basic Sub-Compact category. This was the third consecutive year the Picanto won the award since 2006. The Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI) conducted tests and evaluations of 86 Japanese, European, American, Korean and Chinese vehicles over four test weekends in a controlled environment.
