Description:
One of the most notable developments in 2009 was the launch of the country's first domestically produced hybrid electric vehicle, or HEV. In July, Kia Motors Corp.,launched the country's first HEV on the local market. Based on the Kia Forte compact sedan, the vehicle is the world's first HEV that runs on liquefied petroleum gas and electricity. The vehicle is also the world's first LPG-powered car to meet the Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle or SULEV standards.
